I’m under 40 and can appreciate both the comedy and dramatic parts of M*A*S*H. I expect both because you have to laugh to stay sane, but it’s also in the middle of a war.

If we’re talking way back, it’s hard to beat Mr. Ed. Looking ahead to the 80s though, there’s only one series I went out and bought the DVDs to enjoy before the era of streaming: The Greatest American Hero. A goofy high school teacher gets a suit from an alien that basically turns him into Superman, but he immediately loses the instruction manual so the whole show is him trying to fight crime with his cop friend while being a teacher by and a bumbling hero at night. It’s got a banger theme song too, one I’d always sit through for almost 2 full minutes!

Cheers! Where everybody knows your name.

I was far more heavily into sketch comedy in the mid-to-late 90s, but I also spent some time on Nick at Nite during the early 90s. I’ll give some nods to Green Acres and Get Smart.

  5. It’s been a good many years since I’ve seen an episode, but my favorite sitcom is Three’s Company. I love how wacky it is.

I watched a lot of sitcoms. But my absolute favorite was Wings.
