Koei Tecmo and Gust have announced a new entry in the long-running Atelier series. Atelier Ryza 3: Alchemist of the End & the Secret Key will release for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch on February 24, 2023. A limited physical Premium Box edition is available to pre-order through NIS America’s online store for $109.99 that includes:

  • Standard physical copy of Atelier Ryza 3: Alchemist of the End & the Secret Key for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, or Nintendo Switch
  • Art book
  • B2-size cloth poster
  • Mini acrylic character charm
  • Set of two clear special design files
  • Early access code for Ryza’s “Marine Look of Kurken Shore” costume

The third entry in the Secret sub-series, Atelier Ryza 3 takes place a year after Atelier Ryza 2: Lost Legends & the Secret Fairy, with Reisalin “Ryza” Stout returning as protagonist. While Ryza and her friends enjoy a peaceful life on Kurken Island, they learn about a new group of islands that have mysteriously appeared. Learning that these islands, dubbed the Kark Isles, are causing negative effects on their home, they investigate further and uncover a gate deep within the islands’ ruins, where Ryza hears a voice trying to lead her to the “Code of the Universe”. The game’s lead writer is Yashichiro Takahashi, who created the story for Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness & the Secret Hideout.

Atelier Ryza 3 will feature four regions to explore in a single “open field” that promises seamless transitions. Keys will play an important role in exploration, combat, and synthesis. There will be eleven characters available to recruit into the party with a mixture of returning and new characters, with Klaudia, Lent, and Tao confirmed as returning.
