RPG Maker Unite Highlights Increased Resolution, New UI

Kadokawa Games subsidiary Gotcha Gotcha Games released new details and images for the latest entry in the RPG Maker creation suite series, RPG Maker Unite. The update highlights the suite’s upgraded resolution, letting it support native 1920×1080 resolution. The higher resolution lets creators add additional graphical details to both maps and combat.

It also shows part of RPG Maker Unite’s redesigned UI. The new UI is more tab-based rather than previous title’s modal window design, and planned to let players modify multiple parameters more efficiently. Finally, the update includes character art and models for two of the main party characters included in the sample game that comes bundled with the release: Miguel and Sharon.

RPG Maker Unite is currently planned to release on PC and Mac later this year and is available to wishlist now on Steam. It will be the first entry in the series to utilise the Unity engine. As with other entries, it will come with its own library of assets and pre-made database to help players create their own games. More information can be found on a new developer blog post.
