RPG Maker Unite Details Platform Builds, Workflow

Gotcha Gotcha Games provided new details on RPG Maker Unite, the latest upcoming entry in the RPG Maker developer suite series. Its latest update revealed that RPG Maker Unite will officially support builds on Windows, MacOS, Android, iOS, and WebGL, with the Unity Editor ensuring that games created will be readily optimised for smartphones. Builds to other platforms and environments will be dependent on the user’s personal Unity Editor environment and contracts with relevant manufacturers.

In addition, the developer posted a new development blog where it details the general workflow of RPG Maker Unite, including how to export builds. The development steps are largely divided into three categories: editing game data and parameters, creating maps, and setting up events. Certain aspects may involve one or more of these categories, and they can often be tackled in different orders.

RPG Maker Unite is currently planned to release on PC and Mac later this year and is available to wishlist now on Steam. It is the first entry in the series to utilise the Unity engine. As with other entries, it will come with its own library of assets and pre-made database to help players create their own games.
