Godfall Exalted Update, Xbox Release Announced

Gearbox Software and Counterplay Games announced a new large-scale update for action RPG Godfall. The Exalted update will launch for all platforms on April 7, 2022, with the date also seeing the game releasing on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, while its PC version will also become available through Steam. The Steam and Xbox versions will be available as the Godfall: Ultimate Edition, which includes the game, the Fire & Darkness expansion, and the original Ascended Edition and pre-order bonuses. It will available for $39.99, with a 25% launch discount. The Xbox Series X|S version will include Variable Refresh Rate and Dolby Vision support.

The Exalted update will include story enhancements as Ravenna and Soras have an expanded presence on story missions and in the Sanctum, while Macros also appears more during the campaign. A combat overhaul grants all weapons new timing-based attacks, while players also get a knockdown recovery ability and a revive system. It will add new Valorplate Shards, with each of the twelve Valorplates receiving four Shards that let players further customise their play style and allow them to unlock new powerful Ascendant and Exalted forms. Other additions include reworked Realm Bosses, new Exalted Tower of Trials end-game challenges, and a new six-player co-op mode, and various quality-of-life adjustments.

Godfall sees players taking on groups of enemies before engaging in head-to-head fights against bosses. The game originally released for PC and PlayStation 5 in November 2020, with a PlayStation 4 version released in 2021. It features solo play as well as co-op, with enemies changing their behaviour to suit the current number of players.
