Chrono Cross: The Radical Dreamers Edition Awakening in April
Square Enix has announced Chrono Cross: The Radical Dreamers Edition, a remaster of PlayStation title Chrono Cross. The game will be released digitally for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch on April 7, 2022. It will include support for English, French, Italian, German, and Spanish.
Chrono Cross released in Japan in 1999 and in North America in 2000, with the remaster being the first time the game will be released in Europe. The game is set in the same world as Chrono Trigger and follows a teenage boy named Serge who finds himself in parallel reality where he died. It features a turn-based combat system with encounters visible on the game map.
The Radical Dreamers Edition of the game will include refined illustrations from original character designer Nobuteru Yuuki, as well as remastered music from Yasunori Mitsuda. It will also include upgraded 3D models, the ability to switch enemy encounters on and off, combat enhancement features, an auto-battle option, and the option to choose between pixel or HD fonts and original or updated graphics. The release will also include the connected text-based adventure game Radical Dreamers, which was released for the Super Famicom Satellaview peripheral only in Japan.
