RPGamer Round-Up: July 18 – July 25
Welcome to the latest edition of RPGamer’s round-up column, where we take a look back at some of the articles that we have posted over the previous week. This article is designed to give reminders of some interesting content and stories that our readers might have missed.

Commander Shepard’s tale gets another opportunity to be told. Jervon Perkins reports that though Mass Effect 2’s clunky combat and the presence of old glitches hold it back a bit, Mass Effect Legendary Edition is a great remaster of the original trilogy.
What happens when all of the color in the world has been removed? Has the world lost its hope and joy? In Chicory: A Colorful Tale it’s up to a sweet lil’ pup to use her magical paintbrush and restore beautiful color into the world. Sam Wachter encourages RPGamers to bust out their paints, colored pencils, and relax their way through one of the kindest games on the market.
Paul Shkreli hits the links with the release of Mario Golf: Super Rush. He finds that tight golf mechanics are frustrated by a tacked-on adventure mode.

Trapped inside a magic book, the only way out is to deck-build. Zack Webster finds that Abrakam Entertainment and Richard Garfield constructed a clever roguelike that pushes against genre conventions in some interesting ways.
A dark vision of a medieval world serves as the setting for Wartales. Luis Mauricio discovers that players must heed many details to survive its merciless reality.
Reina and Jericho is a story-driven Metroidvania that follows a woman looking to rescue her partner and escape from a tyrant’s fortress. During PAX Online, Alex Fuller was given the opportunity to chat to Reclamation Games’ Dave Wightman and check out the game’s demo.
Peglin is a hybrid of roguelike and pachinko from developer Red Nexus Games. During PAX Online, Alex Fuller was able to chat with Red Nexus Games’ Dylan Gedig to learn more about the game as well as check out its demo on Steam.
Kitaria Fables is an upcoming action RPG with an emphasis on providing optional farming and crafting gameplay. Pascal Tekaia had a chance to pick the brain of PQube’s Harrison Lewis, and take the game out for a spin.
Alex Fuller was able to attend another virtual preview event for New World. The event provided a look at the game’s PvP Outpost Rush mode, as well as another five-player Expedition.
Below the Stone is an action roguelike where players take dwarves into the depths below the Dwarven Kingdom to bring back riches. Alex Fuller was given the opportunity to talk to Strollart’s Michael Carrol and Apogee Entertainment’s Scott Miller to learn more about the game and its development.
Rollers of the Realm: Reunion is a mashup of RPGs and pinball. During PAX Online, Luis Mauricio was given the opportunity to talk to Phantom Compass’ CEO about the upcoming release.

Major News
Humble Games and Pocket Trap’s Dodgeball Academia has a release date. The game will launch on PC and consoles in early August.
Koei Tecmo and Gust offered some more details and media for Blue Reflection: Second Light. The update introduces an area known as Kokorotope, as well as the characters Shiho Kasuga and RefleNavi.
Atlus posted its first news update video for Shin Megami Tensei V. The video introduces five more characters appearing in the game, as well as the Magatsuhi Skills system.
Story-driven adventure RPG Black Book has been given an August release date. The game is based on Slavic mythology and follows Vasilisa, a young woman who sets out to find the legendary artifact.
Sega released some new media for the upcoming Lost Judgment. The new trailer and screenshots show some of the tools and abilities Takayuki Yagami has at his disposal.
RPGamer’s ad hoc Kickstarter Check-In feature returns for a look at two ongoing crowdfunding campaigns. This edition features Random Potion’s Ignis Universia: Awakening of the Erudite Empress as well as Mongoose Rodeo’s Crowsworn.
