Made in Abyss: Binary Star Falling into Darkness Announced
Spike Chunsoft announced Made in Abyss: Binary Star Falling into Darkness. The game is an action RPG based on Akihito Tsukushi’s Made in Abyss fantasy manga series. It is in development for PC, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch, and is expected to launch in 2022. Physical editions will be distributed by Numbskull Games.
Made in Abyss: Binary Star Falling into Darkness will include a retelling of the storyline from its animated adaptation, as well as an original story supervised by series creator Akihito Tsukushi. The series is set around a giant hole in the earth named Abyss, which holds remnants of a long-gone civilisation. Cave Raiders venture into Abyss to retrieve treasures, but are prone to suffering a potentially fatal affliction called the “Curse of the Abyss”. Riko is a 12-year-old girl wanting to emulate her mother Lyza — a legendary Cave Raider who disappeared — and delves into Abyss with Reg, a robot with the appearance of a young boy.
