Made in Abyss: Binary Star Falling into Darkness Details Its Notebook

Spike Chunsoft provided more details on Made in Abyss: Binary Star Falling into Darkness ahead of the game’s release next month. The update includes a new set of screenshots and covers the game’s notebook system, which keeps track of characters, relics, creatures, and more. It also includes some more details on its Deep in Abyss original story mode.

Deep in Abyss puts players in the role of a customised Cave Raider who embarks on solo expeditions to complete missions and bring back relics. Numerous characters from the main manga/anime series appear in this mode including Nat, Shiggy, and Hablog. They can appear in both the main and side quests. As players progress, they will also find facilities such as the seeker camp and frontline base, the latter being where the highest rank White Whistle delvers Ozen and Bondrewd reside and who also become involved in quests.

The main character carried a notebook around with them, with recording numerous pieces of information that players can refer back to. By viewing them with a monocular, players can record details on special primeval creatures. However, the monocular has a restricted field-of-view, meaning players will need to get quite close to them.

Made in Abyss: Binary Star Falling into Darkness will release worldwide on September 2, 2022. The game will be available digitally for PC, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch, as well as physically for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch.
