New Outriders Broadcast Details Expeditions, Technomancer

Square Enix and People Can Fly released the fourth episode in their series of broadcast videos for action RPG Outriders. The new episode introduces Expeditions, challenging post-campaign missions that let players unlock the game’s most powerful equipment. Once the story campaign is completed, players will unlock a new camp showing new areas to explore. These missions feature reward and challenge tiers, where the faster players complete a mission, the greater rewards they will get. Loot will not be dropped directly by enemies, and rewards will only be provided at the end if players are successful.

The video also featured a deep dive into the Technomancer class. The Techomancer is a long-range support class, making heavy use of various gadgets. It is useful for inflicting status effects, interrupting bosses, and healing squadmates.

Outriders is set on the planet Enoch, after Earth has been ruined and humanity has sent out ships to find a new potential home. Players control an eponymous Outrider, effectively an advance operative sent out to identify potential threats as well as to clear the planet for a full colonisation effort. Outriders will allow up to three players to join forces in drop-in and drop-out multiplayer. The game will launch on February 2, 2021, for PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, and Xbox One, and will include cross-play across all of its platforms.
