Baldur’s Gate III Now Available on Early Access

Larian Studios has released the Early Access version of Baldur’s Gate III. The Early Access version is available for PC and Mac via Steam and GOG.com, as well as on Google Stadia, for $59.99/£49.99/€59.99. The initial version includes access to the first act of the game, which is said to include roughly twenty-five hours of content. The full game does not have an expected launch window at this time.

Baldur’s Gate III is based on the latest fifth edition Dungeons & Dragons ruleset. Its story sees the player character and some others captured and forced to host a Mindflayer tadpole before the airship they are on crashes. In addition to the player character creation options, there are five origin stories in the Early Access version, which offer pre-generated characters in a similar manner to Divinity: Original Sin II. For now, these origin characters cannot be selected to play as but are available as recruitable party members.
