Nintendo Indie World Showcase Round-Up

Nintendo held a new twenty-minute Indie World showcase today, during which it highlighted a number of smaller titles heading to Nintendo Switch. The first game shown was Supergiant Games’ Hades. The action rougelite, which sees players take on the role of the Prince of the Underworld as he attempts to escape it, will launch on Nintendo Switch alongside its full PC version in fall 2020, with cross-saves between both versions.

In addition, Thunder Lotus Games’ Spiritfarer will launch on Nintendo Switch today. The game is a simulation adventure about death, where players control a ferrymaster for the deceased, exploring the world with their own boat, guiding spirits through their situations to let them move on into the afterlife. Spiritfarer is also set to release this year for PC, Mac, Linux, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.

Picogram’s adventure RPG Garden Story will also be heading to Nintendo Switch. The game will launch on the console alongside its PC and Mac versions sometime in 2021. The game puts players in the role of Concord, the newly-appointed village guardian. Concord has to deal with various problems such as a mysterious Rot that is affecting the previously flourishing island the village is on. However, he is able to call upon the aid of those he has helped and made friends with.

Oink Games’ Takeshi & Hiroshi is a mixture of stop-motion and RPG, which launched for iOS on Apple Arcade in 2019. The game is also set to launch on Nintendo Switch later today, and revolves around 14-year-old budding developer Takeshi creating a game to amuse his younger brother Hiroshi and aiming to provide him with challenges to overcome while also trying to prevent him from losing.

Perfect World Games and Echtra Games’ action RPG Torchlight III, which launched on Steam Early Access in June 2020, will be coming to Switch later this year alongside its previously confirmed PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One versions. The game was originally announced under the title Torchlight Frontiers and is set a century after the events of Torchlight II.

Finally, Studio Zevere’s She Dreams Elsewhere has been confirmed for a Nintendo Switch release in 2021. The game will also be coming to PC, Mac, and Linux and sees players take on the role of Thalia Sullivan, a comatose woman on a quest to discover how exactly she ended up in her predicament and to defeat the nightmares keeping her from reawakening. It features a turn-based combat system with a heavy focus on status ailments as well as a surreal world full of stylized, psychedelic visuals to explore.
