Ultimate ADOM Releases Free Alpha Version

Thomas Biskup, creator of the original ADOM (Ancient Domains of Mystery) and Team ADOM have been working on a sequel roguelike for some years, hosting several crowdfunding campaigns along the way. With Ultimate ADOM — Caverns of Chaos slated for a release sometime this year, an early alpha build of the game has now been made available to download for free for a limited time on itch.io. The developers stress that this is a very early build, and is still missing many skill trees, monster types, magic spells, and elemental interactions with the environment. The alpha build is available for PC, Mac, and Linux.

Ultimate ADOM — Caverns of Chaos is a roguelike dungeon-crawler with procedurally-generated dungeons. It allows players to create their own custom character, with quests and NPC interactions changing based on the character build. The game will also include a stealth mode and the ability to switch between normal graphics and ASCII mode at any time. A teaser trailer is viewable below.
