Persona 5 Scramble Trailer Released, Demo Out in Japan

Atlus released a new Japanese trailer for Persona 5 Scramble: The Phantom Strikers. The three-minute introduction trailer is narrated by Futaba Sakura’s actor Yuuki Aoi and touches on the New Game+ mode, which is unlocked by defeating optional boss The Reaper in a sidequest. New Game+ mode lets players use a certain character from the start of the game as well as unlocking new Personas and an additional, tougher difficulty level.

In addition to the trailer, Atlus has released the demo for the game on PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch in Japan. The demo runs for about an hour in length and shows the opening parts of the game. Only Joker is playable in the demo and progress will not be carried over to the full game.

Persona 5 Scramble is an action RPG spin-off/sequel being developed by Atlus alongside Koei Tecmo’s Omega Force studio and takes place in the summer following the events of Persona 5 as the Phantom Thieves travel to a number of cities across Japan following a new Palace-related incident. The game is set to launch in Japan for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch in Japan on February 20, 2020. A western release has not been officially announced.

I’ll get P5 Scramble when it’s released in the West, primarily because it’s a sequel to P5 in terms of story, and secondarily because musou games can be fun in their own right. There’s something satisfying about trashing massive hordes of mooks.
