Legend of the Tetrarchs Getting Physical Release
Limited Run Games announced a physical release for Kemco RPG Legend of the Tetrarchs. The PlayStation 4 edition will be available to order from Limited Run Games’ website in two batches at 10am and 6pm Eastern time on January 31, 2020. The game initially released digitally for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Android, iOS, and PC last year. A trailer for Legend of the Tetrarchs can be viewed below.
Legend of the Tetrarchs is a turned-based RPG with throwback pixel art animations. The game is set in a world where a holy sword that was protecting the land is removed, causing humans to start to mutate into monsters. With up to ten playable characters to recruit, the Tetrarch heroes of old join a new band of warriors to save the land.
According to the Limited Run website, the Limited Run edition of Legend of the Tetrarchs will sell for $29.99 (US dollars), and it’s limited to 1,500 copies worldwide.
Limited Run is a cool concept, but I stopped buying their games when I realized it’s cheaper and easier to play a digital copy than to get a Limited Run copy, play it, and then resell it.
They’re definitely for collectors, or for folks who worry that a favorite digital game could go the way of Flappy Bird.
I like Limited Run. The only problem I have with them now is that they are allowing people to buy in Bulk. Last I checked they were allowing 10+ copies per customer. I wish it was still no more than 1 or 2 per customer.
But I enjoy having game on a physical format.
