Langrisser I & II Gets First Story Trailer

NIS America released a new trailer for Langrisser I & II. The video acts as a trailer for the first game as Ledin aims to retrieve the sacred sword Langrisser and use it to seal an evil that threatens the world. Meanwhile, an update to the collection’s official website introduces numerous members of the first game’s cast.

Ledin is the generally composed prince of Baldea, a nation that has guarded Langrisser for generations, and seeks peace but is prepared to fight for justice. Chris is a young woman on a pilgrimage on her way to becoming a priestess who ends up joining Ledin’s quest. Narm is captain of the Baldea Royal Guard, known for her swordsmanship and loyalty. Jessica is Baldea’s royal mage and highly regarded for her magical prowess and wisdom. Volkoff is the chief vassal of Baldea and has served its king since he was young with his renowned ability with tactics and commanding.

Illzach is the current king of Baldea and Ledin’s father, who is very popular with his people for treating everyone with respect. Lance is captain of the Dalsis Empire’s imperial guard, and is well liked by its citizens for his talent and compassion. Betty is from a noble family and is an excellent sword-wielder, though is prone to making hasty decisions that cause trouble for her brother. Digos is the current Kaiser of Dalsis and the instigator of the war that takes place in the game, believing that long-lasting peace can only be attained through military conquest. Finally, Lucilis is the Goddess of Light; she represents peace and law but prefers not to intervene with humanity.

The first Langrisser game was originally released for the Sega Mega Drive/Genesis and PC Engine/TurboGrafx-16 in Japan in 1991 and brought to the west under the title Warsong. Langrisser II is set several hundred years after the first game, was originally released in Japan in 1994 for the Sega Mega Drive, and later remade for the Super Famicom under the title Der Langrisser. The remakes include new graphics, voice acting, re-orchestrated music, and multiple quality-of-life improvements to the original release. Langrisser I & II will be released for PC, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch in North America on March 10, 2020, with the European release following on March 13, 2020.
