New Trailer Locks Onto The Surge 2’s Combat System

As part of its Gamescom lineup of announcements, Microsoft released a new trailer for Deck13 and Focus Home Interactive’s upcoming action RPG, The Surge 2. The video goes over multiple facets of the game’s combat system, including new and returning features like limb targeting, counter attacks, implants, and combat drones. The game will feature asynchronous multiplayer, letting players leave messages for each other, as well as revenge enemies that have become more powerful by killing players in other games.

The Surge 2 continues the franchise’s trademark dismemberment mechanic to gain new pieces of gear from foes. Players will be able to create a character and explore Jericho City, finding hidden shortcuts to connect areas to each other along the way in just over a month’s time. The Surge 2 is coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on September 24, 2019.
