Super Neptunia RPG Gets New Battle Screenshots

Idea Factory International has released a new set of combat screenshots, as well as character art, for Super Neptunia RPG. The new screenshots focus on Break Attacks. A Break Attack gauge has four slots that fill up as players attack enemies. Once one of the slots is filled, players can choose to select a character to unleash the special attack, or wait until more slots are filled to let additional characters join in for a full onslaught.

The publisher has also updated the game’s official English website with more details about the game’s characters and some of the gameplay systems. The new details include elements, with skills having one of nine elements that enemies may be weak to or able to absorb or resist. Party members will also be able to transform into their more powerful Goddess Forms if the Goddess Gauge is filled up through taking damage.

Super Neptunia RPG is a 2D side-scrolling RPG co-developed by Quebec-based Artisan Studios. It takes place in an alternate universe where 2D games still reign supreme. This version of the world of Gamindustri is ruled by an organisation named Bombyx Mori, which collects 2D games as taxes and bans new technologies or games that don’t meet its standards. The four main Neptunia heroines — Neptune, Noire, Blanc, and Vert — play leading roles in the game, though all appear to have lost their memories. Super Neptunia RPG also introduces a new character, Chrome, who is being chased by Bombyx Mori but refuses to reveal any further information about herself.

Super Neptunia RPG is set to be released for PC via Steam worldwide on June 20, 2019, with PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch releases following on June 25, 2019, in North America and June 28, 2019, in Europe. A limited edition will be available to pre-order from Monday, May 28, 2019.
