Bloodstained Set to Release Worldwide Next Month

Publisher 505 Games has announced that Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night will be releasing worldwide next month. The game will be available digitally on June 18, 2019, for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, with the Nintendo Switch version coming out a week later on June 25, 2019. The PlayStation 4 and Xbox One will also receive a retail version of the game on June 21, 2019, while the Switch retail edition releases on June 28, 2019. A new trailer highlighting the game’s recent graphical improvements and featuring Koji Igarashi reading critical reviews of early versions of the game can be seen below.

Bloodstained is developed by WayForward, DICO, and ArtPlay and acts as a spiritual successor to the classic Castlevania games. The game follows protagonist Miriam as she climbs a gothic castle, battling hordes of demons in side-scrolling fashion. Players will be able to unlock abilities, craft, and equip a myriad of weapons, with the ability to upgrade and alter Miriam’s appearance. Igarashi has also stated that Bloodstained contains the biggest world map he has ever created.
