BioWare Provides Update on Anthem’s Post-Launch Content

BioWare has published a post on the Anthem Reddit board, providing an update on its post-launch development for Anthem. There are currently three periods of content updates planned for the game, known as Acts. The first Act was initially scheduled to be complete 90 days after launch, which falls on May 23, 2019. Though BioWare recently released its Game Update 1.1.0 patch that adds a new Stronghold and a selection of other improvements to the game, the developer has stated that the following elements have been delayed past that date:

  • Mastery system
  • Guilds
  • Legendary missions – Phase II
  • Weekly Stronghold challenge
  • Leaderboards
  • Some freeplay events
  • Cataclysm limited-time event

Anthem is an online multiplayer action RPG set on a planet filled with advanced technological relics that use an energy source called the Anthem of Creation. These relics cause massive instability, changing weather patterns, opening portals, and unleashing monstrous creatures into the world. Players control a mercenary who takes part in missions that require them to venture outside of humanity’s fortified cities in exosuits called Javelins. The game was released worldwide for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on February 22, 2019.
