Anthem Development Cancelled

BioWare announced that development on the long-term redesign of online action RPG Anthem has been cancelled. The game will remain in service in its current state, while the developer will continue to work on its current Mass Effect and Dragon Age projects, as well as MMORPG Star Wars: The Old Republic.

Anthem is set on a planet filled with advanced technological relics that use an energy source called the Anthem of Creation. These relics cause massive instability, changing weather patterns, opening portals, and unleashing monstrous creatures into the world. Players control mercenaries that take part in missions requiring them to venture outside of humanity’s fortified cities in exosuits called Javelins. The game was released worldwide for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on February 22, 2019.
