Mutant Year Zero Gets Free Update, Demo on PC

The Bearded Ladies and Funcom have released a free content update for the PC version of Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden. The update introduces Stalker Trials, a new challenge mode that offers unlimited opportunities to play and to compete on the game’s leaderboards. In this mode, players are given access to all characters, with their mutations and skills unlocked, and tasked with making their way through areas of the game, earning more powerful reward items based off of performance. The game will also keep track of players’ progress via a leaderboard, with the top of the weekly and all-time leaderboards getting an NPC named after for other players to take down.

Additionally, a demo has been released for the game. Like the update, the demo is currently only available on PC and can be downloaded on Steam. Mutant Year Zero is an XCOM-styled tactical RPG that blends real-time and turn-based elements. The game is set in a post-apocalyptic world inhabited by mutant animals struggling to scrape by. The game is available on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
