Rune Factory 4 Heading to Switch, 5 in Development

In its February Direct, Nintendo revealed that Rune Factory 4 will be heading to the Switch in 2019 with the new title Rune Factory 4: Special. The game originally debuted on the 3DS back in 2011. Nintendo mentioned there will be new additions for the Switch version, such as additional difficulty settings. The Direct also reaffirmed that Rune Factory 5 is still in development, though no additional information was provided.

Produced by Marvelous, Rune Factory 4: Special is an action RPG that started out as a Harvest Moon spin-off, and features the changing of seasons, farming, fishing, and raising monsters, amongst many other trademarks for which the series is known. The fully remastered version will include a Newlywed Mode where the protagonist can choose a NPC partner that can participate in new story episodes.
