THQ Nordic Acquires Amalur IP

Publisher THQ Nordic has announced that it has acquired the intellectual property for Kingdoms of Amalur from 38 Studios. The deal also includes its related material in Amalur, previously known as Project Copernicus.

Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning is a single-player fantasy action RPG developed by Big Huge Games and 38 Studios and published by EA. The game was released for PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360 in 2012. Reckoning was created as part of the work for the MMORPG known as Project Copernicus, featuring a setting and history designed by author R. A. Salvatore. The MMORPG was cancelled when 38 Studios declared bankruptcy in May 2012.
