Langrisser I & II Japanese Date Set, First Trailer Released

Masaya Games and Chara-Ani announced last month that the companies were working on a Langrisser project, a collection of the first two games, Langrisser I & II Remake. The PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch release is coming to Japan on February 7, 2019, and the remakes’ first official trailer has been released.

The first title in the Langrisser series, which gets its name from the legendary blade seen in the original game, was initially released in 1991 for the Sega Mega Drive. The sword is shown prevalent in the adjoining trailer which shows a collage of images from different games in the series. The trailer reveals the new look presented within the remakes which retains the strategy RPG style of the original games. Battles are fought on a 2D map where characters engage the enemy army in grand skirmishes.

The original game was be translated and released in the United States, although it was released under the title Warsong for the Sega Genesis. Langrisser I & II Remake is currently only planned for release in Japan.
