Square Enix Collective Returns with Vaultbreakers

Square Enix announced the return of its Square Enix Collective publishing label. The company is partnering with BetaDwarf to publish extraction action RPG Vaultbreakers under the label, following its previous investment in the game last year. In addition, a demo is now available for the game on Steam. The demo is said to feature seven hours of gameplay, playable solo or in co-op for up to three players, with two playable characters and difficulty settings.

Vaultbreakers sees players embark on dynamic missions in a fantasy world. Players can choose from various Champions, unlocking and equipping perks and gear. During missions, player and NPC actions can impact the area, such as polluting a large section or unlocking a secret cave. Vaultbreakers also includes unpredictable shapeshifters called Changelings who can be controlled by the computer or players. The full game will also include PvPvE and five playable heroes, with the remaining heroes to debut in an alpha playtest starting on October 15, 2026. It is currently planned to release in 2027 for PC and unspecified consoles.
