Final Fantasy Resonance Gets TGS Trailer

Square Enix released a dedicated Tokyo Game Show trailer for the upcoming Final Fantasy Resonance. The four-minute video gives various teases for the game’s story, focusing on its themes of vengeance and bonds, as well as brief snippets of exploration and combat. The company also recently released a new video spotlighting the appearance of eccentric series foe Gilgamesh in the game.

Final Fantasy Resonance is a turn-based RPG based on the first story arc of mobile game Final Fantasy Brave Exvius, using Square Enix’s HD-2D graphics engine. It follows Rain, commander of the airship squadron in Grandshelt, the Kingdom of Knights, which is blessed by the power of crystals. He receives a royal decree to investigate the waning barrier of the Earth Shrine, where he encounters a mysterious man who shatters the Earth Crystal. After returning to a Grandshelt under attack by the man and managing to rescue the king, he sets out on a journey to try and protect the remaining crystals. The game will release on October 22, 2026, for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2, with a demo currently available on all platforms.
