Valor Mortis Story Trailer Released

Lyrical Games and One More Level released a story trailer for action RPG Valor Mortis. The 90-second video introduces many of the game’s major characters from its setting in an alternate 19th-century Europe, where an unknown substance called Nephtoglobin turns fallen soldiers into abominations.

The game follows William Dowsett, an English soldier who volunteered for Napoleon’s grand army, who wakes up on a battlefield with no memory. He is forced to choose between the competing voices of Napoleon (voiced by Vincent Cassel) and a mysterious rebel fighter called the Shrike. Other characters include James Stewart, a Scottish weaponsmith believing his service to Napolean will help grant Scotland its freedom, and Lucjan Skawiński, a Polish veteran and craftsman who seeks out survivors and safe havens.

Valor Mortis is billed as taking inspiration from the Ghostrunner series and combining brutal, methodical combat, Metroidvania-inspired levels, and a narrative shrouded in horror and conspiracy. The game is set to release for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S on October 13, 2026.
