Tactical RPG Never’s End Announced
Developer Hypersect has announced turn-based tactical RPG Never’s End. The game is billed as having systems-driven combat and element-manipulating magic, and is planned to release on PC (via Steam), PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5 later this year. The game includes character designs by Masayoshi Nishimura (Octopath Traveler, Triangle Strategy) and music from Doseone (Enter the Gungeon).
Never’s End puts players in command of a band of warriors reincarnated in living metal, tasked with defending the last surviving human settlement from an apocalyptic force called the Never. These warriors are able to manipulate the elements of fire, water, wind, and earth to alter the environment during combat. Players aim to drive back the Never in the game’s open world. They can upgrade towns, temples, and more to create businesses as well as establish new trade routes and recruit additional companions.
As players restore temples, they unlock new elemental magic which can do things like drain rivers, flood battlefields, create fog, raise high ground, melt rock into lava, and more. Players can customise their team and strategies with equipment, formations, and synergies.
