Inazuma Eleven: Victory Road Kicks Off in August, New Platforms Revealed

Level-5 held a special showcase presentation for Inazuma Eleven: Victory Road, during which it announced the release date for the football (or soccer) RPG. The game will be released worldwide on August 21, 2025. In addition to the previously confirmed PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch versions, the game will also launch for Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2, while it will no longer release for iOS and Android.

In addition to providing the release date, Level-5 also provided plenty of details about the game and its contents, which are available to read on the game’s official website. The game will come with two main modes: Story Mode and Chronicle Mode. Story Mode features a new story following Destin Billows (Unmei Sasanami in the Japanese version), a boy who dislikes soccer and wishes to see it disappear, and Harper Evans (Haru Endo), a soccer star standing at the top of the world. It sees players completing missions and quests as South Cirrus Junior High aims to become the top team in Japan.

During Story Mode, players will also be able to undertake a wide selection of side questions and other content. Players can recruit any student at school to their team by meeting their conditions. Various events and conflicts in the story — including dance-offs and arguments with a noodle shop owner — are resolved through Focus Squabbles. Between main events, players can participate in friendly matches and football battles as well as make use of training spots.

Meanwhile, Chronicle Mode sees players trying to create the strongest team from across the series’ history. Its premise sees the far future’s Victorio Cryptix attempting to summon the ultimate fighting spirit to take down the high-dimensional threat known as the Mind Eater. He uses the Inazuma Victory Caravan to travel through time and observe Inazuma‘s history, allowing players to relive various moments and meet conditions to advance the story. It lets players form a team from over 5,200 available characters who have appeared across the series.

The game’s football matches see players control a single player at a time, with others moving automatically, and choose whether to pass, shoot, or use other skills and options. When a player with the ball encounters an opponent, they engage in Focus Battles to determine if they get past or lose the ball. While attacking near the goal, time slows down and allows players to pull off special moves and skills. The same happens when defending one’s own goal, allowing players to move defenders into position to block shots. There are a number of other elements, including tactics and power-up options, with all previous power-up modes from the series returning, including Fighting Spirits and Armourfy. There will also be a Commander Mode that allows players to assign roles, tactics, and more to their team through menu screens as they watch the game play out rather than control the players directly.

Inazuma Eleven: Victory Road will include a number of multiplayer modes and options for players. The BB (Battle Bay) Stadium will allow players to participate in matches with pre-built teams, while there will also be a two-player tag mode. An online tournament system will feature seasonal tournaments that grant top players rare in-game rewards. Meanwhile, the Bond Station (Kizuna Station in Japanese) will allow players to put objects and characters in their own personal town after obtaining them in other modes. Here players can play football or other mini-games with visiting friends in the Bond Station using their own avatar. This avatar can be trained and participate in matches in all modes of the game.
