Escape the Mad Empire Coming to Steam Early Access in April

Publisher Paradox ARC and XperimentalZ Games announced that Escape the Mad Empire is coming to Steam Early Access on April 22, 2025. The game is expected to spend one year in Early Access, where it will be available for $17.99/£14.99/€17.49. This announcement came with a minute-long trailer, which is viewable below and showcases snippets of gameplay.

Escape the Mad Empire is billed as a mixture of roguelike, party-based RPG, base-building, and action RPG. It is set following the fall of an underground empire that mined and used powerful crystals to create abominations and conduct experiments. The game sees players venturing out on missions with randomly-generated dungeon maps that grant story progress and unlock new environments, quests, and more when completed. It features real-time-with-pause combat along with immediate spellcasting. Between runs, players can manage their party, recruit new characters, craft and purchase items, and build up their home base. A demo for Escape the Mad Empire is currently available on Steam.
