Honkai: Star Rail Version 3.0 Launching January 15
HoYoverse revealed that its Version 3.0 update for free-to-play turn-based RPG Honkai: Star Rail will release on January 15, 2025. The update, titled “Paean of Era Nova”, will be the start of a new adventure taking players to the world of Amphoreus. The Amphoreus storyline will be told across eight updates from Version 3.0 to Version 3.7.
Amphoreus is a world that appears as an unreadable vortex from the outside, while its inhabitants are unaware of the outside universe. They worship twelve deities called Titans. The arrival of three of these Titans caused a civil war amongst the gods, which was followed by the spread of the black tide. Over millennia, the black tide has spread throughout the world, with all life touched by it losing their sanity, leaving the Holy City of Okhema as humanity’s final bastion, protected by Kephale, the Worldbearing Titan.
Arriving on the Astral Express, the Trailblazer and Dan Heng venture into a region called the Abyss of Fate. Here, they will encounter Oronyx, the Titan of Time, allowing for the Trailblazer to embark on the Path of Remembrance and draw strength from the past. Players will be joined by a new companion, initially known as Mem for the sound they produce, who plays a role in battle. They steadily charge energy and, when fully charged, players can have a designated character immediately deal additional True DMG. Other important characters are human heroes known as the Chrysos Heirs, who aim to reclaim the twelve Titan Coreflames and use them to restore Amphoreus.
Version 3.0 will introduce three new playable characters: Genius Society member #83 The Herta, Chrysos Heir Aglaea, and the Remembrance Trailblazer. There will also be a limited rerun for 5-star characters Lingsha, Feixiao, and Jade during the first half of the update, while the second half will have reruns for 5-star characters Boothill, Robin, and Silver Wolf.
Honkai: Star Rail tells its own standalone story in the Honkai universe and is available on PC, PlayStation 5, iOS, and Android. The setting features Aeons, incarnations of universal principles that can freely travel between its worlds and apply their principles to them. Players embark on a journey on the Astral Express along with other passengers looking to explore the universe and find out its secrets.
