Freedom Wars Remastered Trailer Demonstrates Systems

Bandai Namco released a new trailer for Freedom Wars Remastered ahead of the game’s launch this week. The five-minute systems trailer, presented by in-game mascot Percy Propa, introduces the game’s premise and missions. It also highlights improvements over the game’s original PlayStation Vita release, including 4K resolution and 60fps support, upgraded textures, upgraded and customisable controls, and a new difficulty mode.

Freedom Wars is set in a far future Earth where the populace is confined to giant city-sized prison complexes called Panopticons. Those born within the Panopticons are immediately dubbed “Sinners” and given sentences they can work off by volunteering on combat operations. The game sees players creating their own character, who is born with a one-million-year sentence, as well as their AI Accessory companion. Players take on various missions with up to three other players or AI-controlled Sinners joining in. The Remastered release will include 4K resolution and 60fps support, plus upgraded textures and streamlined gameplay systems. It will launch on January 10, 2025, for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch.
