Freedom Wars Remastered Announced
Bandai Namco and Dimps have announced a remaster for action RPG Freedom Wars. The remaster of the 2014 PlayStation Vita title will launch on January 10, 2025, for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch. It will include 4K resolution and 60fps support, plus upgraded textures and streamlined gameplay systems.
Freedom Wars is set in a dystopian future where humanity struggles over dwindling resources. The populace is confined to giant city-sized prison complexes called Panopticons, and anyone born is immediately dubbed a “Sinner” and given a sentence they can work off by volunteering on combat operations, during which many Panopticons will try to capture citizens of other Panopticons using giant robots called Abductors. The game sees players creating their own character, as well as their AI Accessory companion, with missions seeing up to three other players or AI-controlled Sinners joining in.
