Eastasiasoft Publishing Starlight Legacy
Eastasiasoft announced that it will be publishing Decafesoft’s Starlight Legacy. The title will launch at an unannounced date for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch. In addition, the company announced its participation to the upcoming Tokyo Game Show, set to run from September 26, 2024 to September 29, 2024, with booths dedicated to Starlight Legacy, side-scrolling brawler Maiden Cops, and shoot’em up Schildmaid MX.
Starlight Legacy is set in Evaria Kingdom. The kingdom benefited from decades of prosperity and peace thanks to the Eternity Tree, which enriches and purifies the soil, water, and air of the entire kingdom. This eventually comes to end after the destruction of the Eternity Tree, following unrest due to a ban on the education of magic and a subsequent separatist movement to liberate one of the kingdom’s provinces. The player takes on the role of warriors Ignus and Teryl, who are tasked with restoring the Eternity Tree and saving Evaria from the ongoing turmoil.
Starlight Legacy features 2D graphics and a turn-based battle system, with 16-bit JRPGs cited as inspirations. The title is billed as featuring a seamless exploration with no loading screens and a non-linear story where the four provinces of Evaria Kingdom can be explored in any order. Players can also traverse the overworld map quickly by taking to the skies. A demo of Starlight Legacy is available on Steam.
