The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky Remake Announced
Nihon Falcom revealed a full 3D remake of turn-based RPG The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky. Titled The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky the 1st, the remake is planned to release for Nintendo Switch in 2025. Nihon Falcom has stated that it is considering releases for PC and PlayStation platforms, and that a western publisher is to be determined but that it is planned for a western release.
The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky is the first game in the long-running Trails series set on the continent of Zemuria. The game follows Estelle Bright and adopted sibling Joshua Bright as they set out across the kingdom of Liberl in search of her father while training to become senior Bracers. The game was originally release for PC in Japan with a PlayStation Portable version following in 2006. The PlayStation Portable version was released in the west in 2011 by XSEED Games and Ghostlight, with its PC version following in 2014. PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita versions were also released in Japan.
The game is the first in the Trails in the Sky trilogy, with direct sequel The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky Second Chapter picking up immediately after the game’s events. Meanwhile, The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky the 3rd takes place after the events of the previous two games, with recurring character Kevin Graham taking the main protagonist role.
