Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Showcases Its Gameplay
Developer Sandfall Interactive revealed a new trailer for its upcoming RPG Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. The seven-minute-long video sees Gustave and other members of Expedition 33 exploring Flying Waters and fighting enemies in turn-based combat.
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is set in a world where, once a year, a being called the Paintress wakes and paints a cursed number upon a monolith, which causes everyone of that age to turn to smoke and disappear. Each year, that number ticks down, with the current year set to be the number 33. Players join Gustave and other members of an expedition that sets out, in the footsteps of previous failed expeditions, to try and end the cycle of death once and for all.
Players will be able to create their own builds for their party with gear, attributes, skills, and synergies. Combat will utilise a free aim system to let players target weak points, as well as to dodge, parry, and counter in real time. Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is in development for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, with a 2025 release window.
