The Legend of Heroes: Trails through Daybreak II Coming West in 2025

On the day of its release of The Legend of Heroes: Trails through Daybreak, NIS America announced that it will be releasing Nihon Falcom’s The Legend of Heroes: Trails through Daybreak II in North America and Europe. The game — released in Japan as The Legend of Heroes: Kuro no Kiseki II -Crimson Sin- — will launch for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch in early 2025. A $99.99 Limited Edition is available to pre-order from NIS America’s online store that contains:

  • Physical copy of The Legend of Heroes: Trails through Daybreak II for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, or Nintendo Switch
  • SteelBook case
  • Art book
  • Art card set
  • Original soundtrack selection CD
  • Map of Calvard
  • Collector’s box

The Legend of Heroes: Trails through Daybreak II is the second game in the wider Trails/Kiseki series’ Calvard arc and takes place a few months after the events of the previous game. Van Arkride returns as main protagonist continuing his work as a spriggan — effectively a private detective and mercenary — alongside the allies recruited in the previous game. The events of Trails through Daybreak II see Van drawn into investigations of series of murders said to involve a mysterious crimson beast.

Trails through Daybreak II features the same combat system from Trails into Daybreak, where players can choose between real-time or turn-based combat, as well as its Law, Gray, and Chaos alignment system. The next entry in the series, The Legend of Heroes: Kai no Kiseki – Farewell, O Zemuria, is set to release in Japan this September.
