Sword of the Necromancer: Resurrection Announced

Indie developer Grimorio of Games has announced a 3D remake of action RPG Sword of the Necromancer. Titled Sword of the Necromancer: Resurrection, the remake will come to PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam in 2024. Originally an unfulfilled stretch goal for the sequel’s Kickstarter campaign, the remake is due to be released before Sword of the Necromancer: Revenant to give more time for development.

Sword of the Necromancer: Resurrection follows the journey of Tama who seeks to bring her dead lover Koko back to life using the forbidden powers of the titular sword. Remastered illustrations and new scenes voiced in English and Japanese are planned to add depth to the tragic love story of Tama and Koko. The reimagining of the top-down dungeon crawler features a new battle system with improved combos, the ability to customize the AI of summoned monsters, resurrecting defeated enemies and turning them into allies, and local co-op. Defeating the game will allow players to unlock rewards in Revenant, such as being able to use the bosses from Resurrection as special summons.

I have been gaming since I received the Sega Master System as a young child, which was the first console I ever owned (Yes, I am that old). The game that got me into RPGs was Final Fantasy VIII, a game that I still adore to this day. My favorite RPG of all time, however, is Shadow Hearts on the PS2. I do have many other interests outside of gaming as well, such as watching old-school wrestling, Reading books, 80s movies.... or anything 80s related as a matter of fact.
