Not only did I start writing about games from a critical perspective during the time of the 3DS and Wii U, but the 3DS directly led to me meeting my current roommate at a local StreetPass meetup. So I have a lot of nostalgia tied up in Mario Kart 7, Pokemon, Fire Emblem Awakening, and Monster Hunter 3/4 Ultimate.

For the Wii U, my favorite memories are the eight day, 60+ hour review marathon for Xenoblade Chronicles X and many late nights of Mario Kart 8 before it went Deluxe on us.

  2. The 3DS has several games that I adore. Pokemon Sun and Ultra Moon, Bravely Default and Second, Fire Emblem Awakening and Echoes: Shadows of Valentia, Devil Survivor, and Shin Megami Tensei IV: Apocalypse, to name a few.

For Wii U memories, I played many multiplayer games with friends and family. There’s the requisite Smash For Wii U and Mario Kart 8, but we also loved to play Nintendo Land. The Animal Crossing and Luigi’s Mansion games were favorites.

Countless memories from the 3DS and Wii U era. As StrawberryEggs notes, Bravely Default, Bravely Second, the revitalization of Fire Emblem, Fantasy Life and Radiant Historia Perfect Chronology were highlights. I still love my Majora’s Mask and Hylian Shield themed consoles along with my Fire Emblem Fates Special Edition.

Still believe history will be kinder to the Wii U than contemporary consumers were. Wind Waker HD and Xenoblade X were amazing. The eShop was replete with games I wanted to revisit. Purchased my console day one and never regretted it.
