Labyrinth of Zangetsu Launching Next Week

PQube announced that its western release of Acquire and KaeruPanda’s dungeon-crawler Labyrinth of Zangetsu is set for April 20, 2023. The game will be available for PC (via Steam), PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch.

Labyrinth of Zangetsu is heavily themed on Japanese culture, including audio inspired by gagaku music and noh drama as well as ink-brush style visuals. The game is set in Ido, whose forces are fighting a constant battle against a calamity called the Ink of Ruin, which causes living beings to go mad or become demons.

Players control a party of six conscripts — from templates or created themselves, with players able to recruit and dismiss party members — across multiple races and classes as they try and purify the land. The game’s turn-based combat features front and back formation mechanics, while players learn more about the world through sidequests and hidden lore.
