Live A Live Remake Demo Available

Nintendo and Square Enix have released a free demo for the Nintendo Switch remake of Live A Live. The demo lets players try out the start of three of the game’s eight story arcs — Imperial China, Twilight of Edo Japan, and the Distant Future — with save data form the demo transferable to the full game. In addition, Nintendo held a special Treehouse presentation demonstrating the game, which can be viewed below.

Live A Live was released for Super Famicom in Japan in 1994 and has not previously been released in the west. The game features a turn-based combat system and the main scenarios can be played in any order, with each including its own gameplay gimmicks. The remake utilises the HD-2D graphical style used in Octopath Traveler and Triangle Strategy, and will release globally on Nintendo Switch on July 22, 2022.
