The Witcher 3 Next-Gen Versions Pushed Back

CD Projekt RED announced that the upcoming PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt have been delayed from Q2 2022, with a new release window to be revealed at a later date. The delay comes about as CD Projekt RED’s decision to move development of the versions in-house. Though not officially confirmed, the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S had reportedly been in development at Saber Interactive’s Russian studio, which ported the game to Nintendo Switch.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt follows Geralt of Rivia as he searches for his surrogate daughter, Ciri, who is being chased by a force known as the Wild Hunt. The game was originally released for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC in 2015, and received RPGamerā€™s Game of the Year Award. A Nintendo Switch version was released in 2019.
