Voice of Cards: The Forsaken Maiden Announced, Releasing This Month

Square Enix announced Voice of Cards: The Forsaken Maiden, a second entry in the card-based Voice of Cards series following October 2021’s Voice of Cards: The Isle Dragon Roars. Voice of Cards: The Forsaken Maiden will be released digitally on PC, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch on February 17, 2022.

The Voice of Cards series is the latest creation from high-profile members of the Drakengard and NieR development teams, including Yoko Taro, Keiichi Okabe, and Kimihiko Fujisaka. Like its predecessor, Voice of Cards: The Forsaken Maiden is played and told entirely through cards. Throughout the game, players make choices that affect the story and participate in turn-based battles reminiscent of tabletop RPGs.

Voice of Cards: The Forsaken Maiden features a standalone story set on a remote chain of islands. The islands have been protected by the Maidens for generations, and the game follows a protagonist who sets out to save the people of their island from destruction alongside Laty, a girl who failed to become a Maiden. A bundle and DLC will be available that includes cosmetic customisation options such as costumes; card back, game table, battle board, and gem box designs; and background music based on some of Yoko Taro’s previous works, as well as a pixel art illustration set.
