PlayStation VR2, Horizon Call of the Mountain Announced

Sony announced its next-generation virtual-reality headset for PlayStation 5 consoles, the PlayStation VR2. The PlayStation VR2 will feature a new controller, the PlayStation VR2 Sense, and will include 110-degree field of view with 2000×2040 per eye resolution and 90/120Hz frame rate support. With the use of integrated cameras for controller tracking, the headset will not need external cameras and will only use a single cable to connect to the PlayStation 5 console. It will include eye tracking, headset feedback, and 3D audio, while the controller will feature haptic feedback and adaptive triggers. Neither a release date nor pricing for the PlayStation VR2 have been announced.

Sony also announced the first game for the PlayStation VR2, Horizon Call of the Mountain. The game is being developed by Guerrilla Games and Firesprite. It is set in the same world as Horizon Zero Dawn and the upcoming Horizon Forbidden West and will star a new character, though Aloy and other familiar characters will appear. No other details have been revealed.
