Arisen: Chronicles of Var’Nagal Hitting Early Access Next Week

Developer Maratus Games announced that Arisen: Chronicles of Var’Nagal will be available on Steam Early Access on September 21, 2021. The initial version will feature the first of the game’s three acts. Arisen: Chronicles of Var’Nagal is expected to spend six to nine months in Early Access before fully releasing on PC and consoles in 2022.

Arisen is narrative-focused with players expressing themselves using cards representing five emotions: joy, anger, fear, sadness, and disgust. Choices will impact the cards available in the deck, potentially granting new response opportunities down the line and access to multiple endings. The game is set in the original fantasy world of Var’Nagal, with the player character being kidnapped by foreign soldiers and sold into slavery on the island of Maccialatt. Arisen: Chronicles of Var’Nagal underwent a successful Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign in 2020.
