Arisen: Chronicles of Var’Nagal Prologue Released on Steam

Belgian developer Maratus has released a free prologue for its upcoming title Arisen: Chronicles of Var’Nagal. The prologue is available for PC on Steam and contains roughly half an hour of gameplay, introducing its base mechanics and premise.

Arisen: Chronicles of Var’Nagal is set in a fantasy world with the player character being kidnapped by foreign soldiers and sold into slavery on the island of Maccialatt. The game is narrative-focused with players expressing themselves using cards representing their emotions. Choices will impact the cards available in the deck, potentially granting new response opportunities down the line and access to multiple endings. The game is being developed for PC and is expected to launch sometime in 2021.
