Takuya Kimura, Toshihiro Nagoshi Partner for Lost Judgment Behind-the-Scenes Video

Sega has posted an interview with Lost Judgment general director Toshihiro Nagoshi and Takuya Kimura, the actor of protagonist Takayuki Yagami. In this interview, they go over behind-the-scenes details as well as show off new gameplay.

The primary setting of Lost Judgment is a high school in Yokohama. In accordance with its new setting, one of the major themes in the game will be bullying. Nagoshi believes that exploring this topic through a video game will be a new experience for players. The school environment also serves to bring out a new side of Yagami as he interacts with students and participates in various club activities. These clubs take the form of several mini-games, such as boxing.

Speaking of mini-games, Lost Judgment also includes a playable Sega Master System at the Yagami Detective Agency. Players will be able to unlock and play classic titles as they explore and complete tasks in the city of Yokohama. Gameplay of Yagami exploring the city and performing tricks with the game’s new skateboard was also exhibited.

The rest of the gameplay focused on battles and investigations. Kimura himself played an entire combat encounter, which showed off the newly added Snake style as well as the transitions between cutscenes and battles. The investigation gameplay segments have also been expanded upon since the previous game. One major new mechanic is that Yagami can now parkour around crime scenes. This includes being able to climb walls, pipes, and even wall-run to reach evidence.

Lost Judgment is a sequel to Judgment and sees private detective Takayuki Yagami becoming involved in a mystery following revelations made at the end of a court case handled by his former colleagues.
