Guild Wars 2 Prepares for the End of Dragons in 2022

ArenaNet has announced the third major expansion to MMORPG Guild Wars 2 will release in February. The new expansion is titled End of Dragons and, like the main game, it will be available on PC and Mac.

End of Dragons is set on the continent of Cantha, which last appeared in the 2011 Guild Wars: Winds of Change content pack and has been closed off from the outside world for over 200 years. The land is home to the oldest known human settlements as well as the powerful Empire of the Dragon. However, an event called the Jade Wind has disrupted the cycle of the dragons.

The expansion will add nine new Elite Specializations for the game’s Professions (classes). These will grant the Professions new abilities and a different play style. It will also add a new Siege Turtle combat mount, the first in the game that can be ridden by two players. End of Dragons will also add fishing to Guild Wars 2, while players will be able to use to their own personal skiff to travel the waters around Cantha.

Guild Wars 2 is set 250 years after the events of the original Guild Wars. It was originally released in 2012, with expansions Heart of Thorns and Path of Fire released in 2015 and 2017 respectively. The game and expansions are available as buy-to-play titles.
