Guild Wars 2: Secrets of the Obscure Expansion Announced

NCSoft announced a new expansion for MMORPG Guild Wars 2. Secrets of the Obscure is the game’s fourth expansion and is set to release for PC on August 22, 2023. It is available to pre-purchase now in multiple editions starting at $24.99 from Steam, the game’s official website, and official retailers. A combat beta weekend will run form June 29 to July 2, 2023.

Secrets of the Obscure sees players dealing with a new threat emerging from the Mists. They uncover more about the Wizard’s Tower and explore the skies above Tyria, while defending it from the strange army of the Kryptis. Alongside new allies in the Astral Ward, they will seek to seal tears in reality. It will also include new combat and character build system upgrades, as well as let players unlock weapons previous exclusive to elite specialisations.

Guild Wars 2 is set 250 years after the events of the original Guild Wars. It was originally released in 2012, becoming available on Steam in 2022, and currently has three expansions: Heart of Thorns, Path of Fire, and End of Dragons. The game and expansions are available as buy-to-play titles.
